History

Fox Creek Inn was built in 1830 as a country house and opened as an inn in 1975. It has had several names- Fiftepine Lodge, Tulip Tree Inn, and most recently Fox Creek Inn. The home was bought by William Barstow, a philanthropist who was one of the nation’s first electrical engineers, for his son Frederic to serve as a hunting lodge. This was where William Barstow entertained the likes of Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and Harvey Firestone.
